Konter Installed as 2012-2013 President


Mark Konter of Konter Quality Homes was recently installed as President of the Home Builders Association of Greater Savannah (HBA). Konter was installed by his father, Jerry Konter, a Past President of the Home Builders Association of Greater Savannah as well as a Past President of the Home Builders Association of Georgia. The ceremony took place at The Savannah Golf Club with over 100 guests, family and friends in attendance.
 
Mark Konter graduated from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business with a degree in Financial Real Estate and is currently a principle at Konter Quality Homes, a multi-generational family homebuilding and development company with over 35 years serving the housing needs of the greater Savannah area, specializing in custom and production homebuilding, multifamily construction, neighborhood development and light commercial construction.
 
Prior to joining the family owned company of Konter Quality Homes, Mark worked with the nation’s largest builder, Pulte Homes as well as one of the largest custom home builders in the Southeast, John Wieland/ Colonnade Custom Homes.
 
Konter currently serves as a Director for the Home Builders Association of Georgia and the National Association of Home Builders Technology Task Force. He is a member of Telfair-William Jay Society, Next Generation, SJF and the Chamber of Commerce. Mark is married the Allison Konter, teacher at Islands High School and the 2012-2013 Savannah Chatham County Teacher of the Year.
 
Other Officers installed were Stevie Williams-Mills as Vice President, Mark Bouy as Treasurer, Kevin Kirsch as Secretary and Tracey Burdette as Associate Vice President.
 
Also installed that evening were the Board Members for the Bryan County Chapter, Effingham County Chapter, Sales & Marketing Council and the Greater Savannah HBA.
 
Byron Loomis of Yates Astro received the Woody Woodward Memorial Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions by an Associate member. Jeri Patrick of The Sumner Group was recognized as the Sales & Marketing Council’s member of the year and the coveted Hall of Fame Award was presented to Beth Williams-Holley for her outstanding contributions to the home building industry.
